Finding Churches with Google Earth (NEW!)

Using Satellite Navigation to find Seventh-day Adventist Churches in the UK and Ireland

For many Adventist churches in the UK and Ireland you can simply find the post code by searching for the church on this website, and then enter it into your satellite navigation device.

However if you have a TomTom or other Sat. Nav. device you can enter the locations of nearly all of our churches as a "Points of Interest" data file. We have also provided CSV and ASC and convertors that you can use with most makes of Sat Nav. This is what you need to do for Tom Tom:

Download the two files below and add them to the map directory on your Tom Tom. This may be labeled"Great_Britain_ map", "Western_and_Central_Europe, or a variation depending on which model or version of TomTom you have purchased. Note that they must be inside this directory to work. Follow the instructions in your manual for specific details for your model. This will then give you POI for 339 of the Seventh-day Adventist churches across England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales - more churches are still being added. This includes the two Adventist Youth Camp Sites, Aberdaron and Chapel Porth and the headquarters offices of the BUC, NEC and SEC.

From wherever you are in the UK you will then be able to find the Adventist Church that is nearest to your current location. This is how:

Start your TomTom device. Click on the main screen. Click on "Navigate to". Click on "Point of Interest". "UK Adventist" should appear on your screen. If not click on the arrow then scroll down to "UK Adventist".

This will then give you a list of the churches nearest to your location. Note that the distances are as the crow flies, not driving distance. If the church you want is further away then click on the keyboard symbol and type in the name of the church you want. Tap on the church, wait for the route to be calculated, follow the directions, then enjoy your worship.

Note: The POI have been added according to the information supplied to us - mainly based on address and postcode. This means that in many cases the POI will be extremely accurate. In some instances however, where the address supplied has been a little vague, the POI will be only accurate to within a few hundred metres. In order to increase the accuracy of the POI we would be very pleased to accept your submissions for a more accurate fix. There are two ways to do this. On older versions of Tom Tom go to the GPS status on your Sat Nav device and let us know the exact latitude and longitude of the site you are visiting. On newer models click on the "First Aid" sign and then click on "Where am I". This should give you your location plus a lattitude/longtitude reading. It is preferable if the reading is provided in decimal format, but if not we can convert it. Contact either of the Conference offices or the BUC office to give us the data.
